What is Joomla?

Joomla! is a content management system platform for publishing content on the web. The system includes features such as page caching to improve performance, RSS feeds, printable versions of pages, news flashes, blogs, polls, website searching, and language internationalization. It is written in the PHP programming language and uses the MySQL database system to store information.

What is Wordpress?

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. Over time WordPress has evolved form a simple blogging platform to a full Content Management System. Although not as feature-rich as Joomla!, WordPress is an idea CMS for clients with a smaller amount of content to manage.
